Content and Moderation Policy

1. Principles

Moderation aims to keep the directory lawful, accurate and safe, while treating professionals fairly and proportionately.

Decisions are taken by the moderation team. Automated tools may assist in detection, but a measure affecting a profile is confirmed by a human review.

2. Review before publication

Photographs and certain profile elements pass through a review queue before becoming publicly visible.

This review checks compliance with the publishing rules. It is not an identity verification and does not constitute an endorsement of the profile.

3. Reporting

Any user, and any third party, can report content through the reporting procedure available on the site.

Reports are recorded, prioritised according to seriousness, and reviewed by the moderation team. Reports concerning a minor or non-consensual content are treated as the highest priority.

4. Measures

Depending on the seriousness, the measures available are: withdrawal of an item of content, request for correction, temporary de-indexing, suspension of the profile, and closure of the account.

Manifestly illegal content is withdrawn immediately.

5. Information given to the person concerned

Where a measure affects a published profile, the account holder is informed of the measure and of the reason for it, except where informing them would be unlawful or would compromise an investigation.

6. Review of a decision

A professional whose content has been withdrawn or whose profile has been suspended may request a review through the contact channel, giving the elements they consider relevant.

The request is examined by the moderation team. A measure taken because of manifestly illegal content is not reinstated.

7. Limits of moderation

Moderation reduces risk but cannot eliminate it. The platform makes no claim of a perfectly safe environment, and does not guarantee the identity of the people who publish or the accuracy of every published statement.
